Alcohol Causes Cancer (sorry!)
As soon as I read this on a whole bunch of health and science sites, I stopped drinking. Altogether. I loved to drink as a lad, but now that I’m 40, and after the all clear from and esophageal and rectal exam – it’s probably time to hedge my bets. This information ain’t going to appear on TV. Too many program sponsors will have a fit. You really need to go to the proper authorities to see exactly why even one drink causes cancer and why.

Consequently, I’ve lost a few of my friends. Interestingly, the ones who I pretty much only ever saw when they were drinking or already drunk. Now when I go out, I buy myself a sports drink. A big blue sports drink poured into a cocktail glass can pass as a really expensive cocktail. Mmmm – am I boring or what?
There’s even a theory that fizzy drinks lead to cancer. Okay – now you’re being paranoid. If you think I’m going too far, you will already know that fizzy drinks contain a lot of sugar. And sugar is the most readily available energy for the growth of tumors.
Another frightening report: High Blood sugar and cancer. Maybe I’ll pretend my water with lemon is a gin and tonic at the next party.
